The Duel is Looking for a Fantasy Sports/Sports Betting Content Editor With Digital Media Background.
Candidates must have a strong editorial background and work experience in media. Candidates should have an understanding and passion for fantasy sports and sports betting. Knowledge of all three major US sports leagues and college sports is also a must. Exemplary writing and editing skills, as well as the ability to use statistics to create and enhance stories, is critical to this role.
We are looking for dynamic individuals who thrive under the challenges and pressures of a 24/7, fast-moving editorial newsroom and who understand the challenges and opportunities that come with working at a quickly expanding start-up. This is a full-time position and can either be remote or in our New York City office.
The position will require work on weekends, evenings and holidays.
What You Have:
– 1-2 years experience as a journalist, editor, digital media specialist, etc.
– Understanding of Fantasy Sports and Sports Betting a must
– Knowledge of the NFL, NBA, MLB, NCAA football and basketball
– Understanding of Associated Press stylebook and standards
– Proven knowledge of best SEO practices and ability to execute SEO editorial plan
– Highly organized: create and maintain personal workflows to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously
– Ability to thrive under strict editorial deadlines in a high-pressure newsroom environment
– Active Facebook and Twitter accounts with engaged following a strong plus but not a must
– Understanding of analytics tools and ability to utilize them to make editorial decisions a strong plus
– Interview process will include a quiz to test sports knowledge and a writing/editing test
