The University of Nebraska at Omaha is seeking an

Assistant Director of Communications

Intercollegiate Athletics

Position will serve as the primary communications contact for men’s and women’s soccer, swimming & diving, softball, and men’s tennis. Some travel may be required for postseason and major away games. Responsible for the production of game notes and recaps, statistics maintenance, fostering social media growth and home game management. Responsible for keeping website pages for above sports with current staff listings and relevant stories. Coordinate game-day needs of respective sports including scheduling and supervision of direct reports at all home games. Plan and coordinate media days for above sports including communications with local news media. Manage in-season interview requests from local, regional, and national media. Work with the marketing department to ensure branding/marketing strategy is consistent across all sports.

Required Qualifications:

·        Bachelor’s degree in communication, journalism or related field.

·        Two years relevant experience or a combination of education and experience.

·        Extensive knowledge of Statcrew software for sports of responsibility and working knowledge of NCAA Genius statkeeping software for same sports.

·        Demonstrate working knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and other programs in the Adobe creative suite.

·        Proficient with website and social media platforms.

Salary Information: $37,000 – $39,000/year
