Objective:
The Communications Internship is designed to provide undergraduate students from historically underrepresented racial and ethnic groups the opportunity to gain professional communications experience by contributing to work in the pediatric healthcare space.

Program Description:
This internship will be a partnership with the James M. Anderson Center’s Communications Center of Excellence. You will work closely with Communications Specialists supporting our learning health system collaboratives and the quality improvement efforts at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital and around the world.
You will have to opportunity to develop professional communication skills and work along world-class Quality Improvement Specialists, Data Analysts, Project Managers, Clinicians, and Physicians across the U.S.
The core responsibilities will consist of:
o Assisting the James M. Anderson Center Communications team with developing conceptual designs, campaigns, or other large initiatives in support of customer communication or improvement goals.
o Supporting services in writing/copyediting, newsletter production, graphic design, video and other collateral development (e.g., brochures, annual reports, blog posts, one pagers, infographics, impact summaries)
o Supporting team members in managing customer social media accounts and public websites
Program Timeline:
This internship will run concurrently with established school semesters of summer, fall, and spring.
Candidate Criteria:
We strongly encourage applications from members of historically underrepresented racial and ethnic groups both broadly and specifically within healthcare.
A strong candidate will:
o Have excellent skills in writing and editing
o A developing comprehension in content creation (newsletter production, graphic design, video and other collateral)
o Basic understanding of social media engagement best practices
Compensation:
This internship is an hourly paid position with flexibility between full- and part-time hours depending upon student availability.
