Intern duties and responsibilities:
IRF Secretariat is looking for candidates who are passionate about learning about, promoting, and preserving religious freedom for everyone—from Atheists to Zoroastrians.
We welcome experience and contributions in the following areas:
• Live Tweet partner events and Congressional hearings
• Help manage our social media accounts
• Stay up to date on IRF in the news
• In charge of publishing weekly posts dealing with USCIRF’s annual report
• Reviewing, fact-checking, proof-reading and formatting posts
• Scheduling social media posts, weeks, sometimes months in advance
• Participating in and supporting other IRF Secretariat activities as needed
Qualifications:
• Seeking degree holder preferably in International Relations, Human Rights, Political Science, or a related field
• Has experience with Canva
• Previously held a communications esque internship/fellowship prior to this role
• Experience with social media (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn)
• Experience with research, writing, editing, and simply a really great attitude about learning
• Demonstrated interest in Human Rights broadly and IRF specifically
• Sense of adventure and sense of humor
In exchange for 15 – 20 hours a week, the intern will be exposed to some of the most compelling cases for the defense of human rights worldwide, meet government and NGO officials, interact with senior international religious freedom advocates including former and current government officials, and learn what it is like to run international human rights nonprofit. This position is unpaid, however, we are happy to work with schools so you can receive academic credit for this internship.
