About KGWN:
Wyoming News Now is the dominant news source for the both the Casper and Cheyenne-Scottsbluff markets. Wyoming News now is made up of two stations, KCWY in Casper, and KGWN in Cheyenne, Wyoming. This position is in our Cheyenne location, a community along the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains. Cheyenne is home to F.E. Warren Air Force Base, the Capital City and Cheyenne Frontier Days, the world’s largest outdoor rodeo. There are an abundance of opportunities for outdoor activities in all seasons. With an international airport nearby in Denver, Colorado, travel to and from is also easy.
Job Summary/Description:
Wyoming News Now is looking for someone who can write, shoot, edit, produce and anchor. News directors love to hire well-rounded broadcasters, and this position is tailor-made to provide that experience.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
– Produce and anchor weekend newscasts.
– Perform regular duties of an MMJ, from developing story ideas to shooting, editing and going live, as well as posting on digital and social platforms.
– Be a multi-platform storyteller, with regular posts to social media, the stations website and news app.
– Meet daily deadlines.
Qualifications/Requirements:
• Ability to shoot and edit video, write scripts, and effectively communicate live on-air.
• Some experience from the anchor desk.
• Flexibility in scheduling, to respond to the changing news landscape.
• Familiarity with non-linear editing, TVU, Sony ENG, Social Media is a plus.
• Strong writing and organizational skills
• Enjoy a fast paced environment
