NASCAR is looking to hire a Coordinator, Team, Driver & Industry Communications. This person provides communication services to the Communications team, conducts day-to-day efforts with communications professionals at industry teams.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Provide proactive, strategic media relations in advance of national series events
  • Define and implement the most effective means of meeting stakeholder objectives on assigned industry communications and communications-driven events
  • Build and maintain relationships with industry colleagues
  • Analyze issues and stories as they arise and independently assesses and provides the appropriate and immediate response to the media, after evaluation of options, in light of stakeholder objectives
  • Execute Industry Communications plans
  • Participate in ideation sessions and weekly outreach and team meetings
  • Special projects as assigned, including the identification, development, analysis, placement, and promotion of relevant storylines with industry, national and local media surrounding high-profile events (examples: end-of-year awards ceremonies, Media Days, production days, etc.) in alignment with official partners’ objectives
  • Analyze industry objectives and strategically places positive news, sports, feature, business and lifestyle stories with national and key/priority market print, broadcast and online media to meet those objectives
  • Develop written materials, including but not limited to press releases, pitch documents, award submissions, message points, traditional media monitoring and campaign recap reports
  • Partner with and serves as a communications resource to industry teams on important and time-relevant information for press inquiries, current events, promotions, driver communications, marketing information, etc.
  • Oversee the creation and updating of master industry team contact distribution list and driver information database as well as additional key industry documents

Travel: 20%, including overnights and weekends

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university and a minimum of three (3) years related experience related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
