LOCAL MARKETING SPECIALIST I

OVERVIEW 

Local Marketing Specialist I prepares and disseminates information regarding BASIS Charter Schools in Arizona, Louisiana and Washington DC through newspapers, periodicals, television, radio, social media and other communication channels.   

The focus is on ensuring the general population and target audience in these markets are aware of BASIS Charter Schools and have an accurate perception of the unique value we offer our students and their families. 

The position reports to the director of marketing. 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Draft press releases, pitches, case studies, white papers, and media summaries 
  • Build relationships with new media contacts and maintain relationships with existing contacts 
  • Manage media requests in a timely and professional manner 
  • Pitch story ideas and content to media 
  • Ensure all communication is cohesive with the brand image 
  • Track and analyze media coverage to inform future campaigns 
  • Measure PR program impacts using regular reporting 
  • Organize, schedule, and prepare key leaders for press interviews 

EXPERIENCE  

  • 0 to 2 years of related experience preferably in a Local Marketing firm or corporate marketing/Local Marketing department 

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Excellent organization skills 
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively 
  • Strong working knowledge of a variety of Local Marketing programs 
  • Strong oral and written communication skills 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 
  • Proven ability to develop, implement, and execute successful Local Marketing campaigns 

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree in Local Marketing, marketing, communications or related field is preferred.

COMPENSATION 

Local Marketing Specialist I: $50,000 to $66,500
