China Labor Watch (CLW) is an non-governmental organization established in 2000, its headquarter is located in New York City. CLW’s core mission is to improve Chinese workers’ interests and benefits. For more information, please visit our website at www.chinalaborwatch.org 

Responsibilities of the intern:

  1. Conduct interviews with workers 
  2. Provide legal advice to Chinese workers who are victims of labor exploitation 
  3. Provide assistance to Chinese workers to engage in litigation against companies that violate workers’ rights in the United States
  4. Connect with law firms and other non-profit organizations 
  5. Edit interview records, and provide relevant information to lawyers
  6. Conduct research on social media and news on labor conditions 
  7. Translation 

Qualification 

  1. Master’s degree in law
  2. Familiar with China’s and US’ law on labor rights and other human rights
  3. Able to work in the the US
  4. Fluency in Chinese and English 

Preference will be given to those with:

  1. Past work experience with NGOs 
  2. Familiar with human rights issues and labor conditions in China 

Interns will be required to work 35 hours to 40 hours per week.

This is a paid internship position, interns will receive $15 per hour. The intern is expected to work for a minimum of 3 months. Once the internship period is over, this position can be extended or be changed to full-time status depending on intern’s and CLW’s desires.
