Responsibilities of the intern:
- Conduct interviews with workers
- Provide legal advice to Chinese workers who are victims of labor exploitation
- Provide assistance to Chinese workers to engage in litigation against companies that violate workers’ rights in the United States
- Connect with law firms and other non-profit organizations
- Edit interview records, and provide relevant information to lawyers
- Conduct research on social media and news on labor conditions
- Translation
Qualification
- Master’s degree in law
- Familiar with China’s and US’ law on labor rights and other human rights
- Able to work in the the US
- Fluency in Chinese and English
Preference will be given to those with:
- Past work experience with NGOs
- Familiar with human rights issues and labor conditions in China
Interns will be required to work 35 hours to 40 hours per week.
This is a paid internship position, interns will receive $15 per hour. The intern is expected to work for a minimum of 3 months. Once the internship period is over, this position can be extended or be changed to full-time status depending on intern’s and CLW’s desires.
