College Marketing Group/CollegiateParent has an immediate opening for an experienced advertising sales representative in their Boulder, CO office. Call on businesses in hundreds of college towns throughout the U.S. within an assigned territory. Close advertising sales deals for print, online and digital platforms. Ideal for people with newspaper, magazine, radio, tv or emedia advertising sales background and B2B advertising sales prospecting and cold calling experience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
● Meet or exceed individual sales goal (Range is $60,000+ per quarter)
● Close new business over the phone and through email communications to achieve goals.
● Consistently log 80 to 100 sales activities per day.
● Provide weekly input on sales pipeline and forecast to Sales Director.
● Work with account management to ensure ad sales align with the publication requirements and specifications.
● Conduct market research and develop leads using online resources, lead databases and other tools to determine top prospects in markets.
● Prepare and send information and media kits to current and potential customers.
● Document daily sales activities and achievements in CRM (Salesforce).
● Attend and participate in weekly sales training/meetings.
● Follow up with customer on payment issues as needed.
● Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes.
● Support Ad Coordinator to ensure artwork is received on time for publication asneeded.
● Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
Knowledge:
● Solid understanding of print & digital advertising sales and processes.
● Proficiency using a CRM system (Salesforce)
● Understanding of business to business selling, typical sales cycles for different business verticals, and best practices for inside sales (phone & email business to business sales).
Skills and Abilities:
● 2 year minimum advertising sales experience, preferably in print and/or digital sales.
● Proven ability to achieve individual sales goals.
● Strong work ethic and commitment to customer satisfaction, product quality and achieving positive outcomes.
● Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate persuasively, professionally and effectively by way of phone, social media platforms (ie. LinkedIn) and email.
● Ability to communicate with front line employees and regional and national marketing directors.
● Self-motivated, driven and persistent performer who works well independently and with team members.
● Excellent verbal & written communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
● Ability to multi-task and follow through on a high volume of deadline driven activities.
● Create well-written, concise communications to clients and prospects.
● Positive, upbeat, outgoing, motivating personality.
Compensation:
The compensation consists of a base salary plus commission and bonuses structure. Commissions are uncapped.
