The Badlands Big Sticks was established in 2018 and are apart the Independence Baseball League. This internship will run from mid-May through mid-August. The Big Sticks will host 30 home games with an average of 700 fans attending per game. Attendance will be required at all home games and special events, including team and community events. The schedule will be challenging, working up to 80+ hours a week during homestands.
All interns will receive a $1,000 stipend and have housing provided. Preference will be given to applicants that are receiving college credit.
In addition to position responsibilities, all interns will be required to help out in all areas of team operations as needed including but not limited to taking out trash, cleaning, and wearing the mascot costume at events.
Position Requirements
- Help manage all social media outlets (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and TikTok) including the use of social media stories and publications and designing graphics
- Create events on social media and update the website regarding events
- Assist in coordinating and executing events that are sponsored or attended by the organization
- Help with on-field entertainment as needed
- Assist in coordinating player media days
- Assist with planning and execution of birthday parties, theme nights and communication with non-profits as well as any other special events put on or attended by the organization
- Other duties as assigned
