Job Summary:
The Social Media Manager will work collaboratively with all units within Student Health and Wellness (CAPS, VEP, HLP,Clinics, DoS, SCAI) to properly promote services, events, and resources to the student body and key partners through email, social media, and other digital platforms. Position will assist with brand management, strategic planning, and data reporting.
- Plans, executes, promotes and distributes all email, social media and digital advertising campaigns that engage, educate, and motivate students to lead healthier lifestyles using the Dimensions of Wellness model as a guide. Collaborates with SHW units, Assistant Director of Marketing & Communications and Student Affairs account manager, as appropriate, on all collateral materials to ensure unified messaging and FIU brand integrity.
- Grows and maintains social media presence for Student Health & Wellness departments (including, but not limited to, CAPS, VEP, HLP, Clinics, DOS, & SCAI). Works collaboratively with other departments on promoting institutional campaigns, as appropriate.
- Creates methodology to measure and collect analytics from all digital content developed and implemented for the program. Develops reports on impact of all marketing content/campaigns by month, semester, and academic year.
- Stays current in latest industry trends, insights, best practices, and optimizes marketing performance based on the findings. Interprets and implements educational media/communication administrative rules and policies (e.g., WCAG compliance, copyrights). Recommends new and improved programs and/or technologies to effectively manage social media needs.
- Oversees development of content strategy including, but not limited to, social media posts, SHW resource guide, podcast content. Collaborates with content strategy team in development of graphics, videos, and other digital content for social media platforms. Submits completed content to FIU events calendar, PantherConnect, electronic boards, and other relevant entities.
- Represents Student Health & Wellness at events, meetings, and conferences, as appropriate.
- Works closely with the marketing team and AVP of Student Health & Wellness to set the annual marketing calendar (e.g., national campaigns and awareness activities). Adapts the schedule based on institutional priorities (e.g., hurricanes, pandemics).
- Collaborates with the Division of External Relations to ensure brand integrity and standards.
- Supervises digital marketing OPS, interns and/or volunteers.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or as directed. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or related field and three (3) years of experience working with social media in a communications, marketing, or public relations setting.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience in digital marketing.
- Ability to submit 2-3 URLs of managing campaigns from social media platforms.
- Experience with Social Media Strategy and Analytics.
- Ability to promote sensitive topics such as sexual health, LGBTQ+, etc.
- Experience with Microsoft Office and Adobe Suite.
- Customer service experience.
