POSITION SUMMARY
Bloomin’ Brands, the parent company for Outback Steakhouse, Carrabba’s Italian Grill, Bonefish Grill, Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse and Aussie Grill is seeking an intern for the summer of 2023. The Consumer Insights & Analytics Intern will partner with the Guest Relations and Consumer Insights teams to complete the following high-profile projects:
1. Competitor Social Media Engagement Research: The goal is to evaluate engagement on social media with our fans and guests and compare this data to our competitors. We want to know if we are responding in similar ways to similar topics and gain insight into best-in-class engagement opportunities.
2. Outback Steakhouse Model Comparison: Benchmark guest metrics by restaurant type in the fleet to gauge performance at the unit level.
3. Quarterly Ops Playbooks: Participate in gathering Guest Lens and Guest Relations data for quarterly review reports.
4. Aussie Grill Consumer Sentiment Deep Dives: Participate in gathering data for Aussie Grill guest metrics, verbatims, for use in leadership reporting.
5. Based on list of ongoing projects, assist with secondary research reporting, concept screenings fieldwork and reporting.
This role will be worked on a Hybrid schedule with part of your week spent in our Tampa Restaurant Support Center and the other part working from home.
PRIMARY PROJECTS / TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
* Competitor Social Media Engagement Research: Intern will partner with Guest Relations and Marketing team members to outline key performance indicators for social media guest relationship management and define competitors. Intern will work independently to evaluate social posts and comments from our brands and competitors for a designated period. Intern will analyze collected data and draw insights, comparing social media engagement between brands and competition. Intern will report results to leadership and provide recommendations.
* Partner and support Consumer Insights team with data analysis and research using internal tools as well as external vendors, industry papers and reports.
* Collaborate with Consumer Insights team to synthesize data from syndicated, secondary, and third-party sources to help pinpoint the trends and perceptions data tells us.
* Intern may also assist the Guest Relations or Consumer Insights teams on daily workflow or special projects as needed and time allows.
REQUIRED SKILLS
* Currently pursuing degree in Marketing, Business Analytics, Mathematics, or Management
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to analyze data and identify insights
* Proficient in Excel & PowerPoint: Familiar with VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Data Visualization, etc.
* Familiar with Social Media site navigation

* Desire to present findings to leadership and make sound recommendations based on research
* Strong interpersonal skills
* Self-starter willing to take initiative on projects to move them forward
* Organized and able to handle multiple projects and timelines
