Georgia Power Corporate Communication Internship Program
January 2023 – July 2023 (6-month program); 3 positions available; paid internship
Are you socially savvy? Do you have a knack for writing engaging content? Do you have a wide interest in brand strategy? Read on – Georgia Power is searching for a stellar storyteller!
While your main focus will be social media strategy, you’ll also have the opportunity to think through big-picture communication plans by brainstorming campaigns, pitching ideas, writing employee communications, scheduling social content and reporting results.
The successful candidate will partner with all teams within Georgia Power’s award-winning Corporate Communication department including Brand & Digital Strategy, Media Relations, Internal & Executive Communications, Crisis Communications and Brand Creative to help build, protect and enhance the Georgia Power brand.
Responsibilities
- Developing social campaigns, including planning, deployment, optimization and reporting
- Working with a cross-functional team of communications professionals representing brand, marketing, internal and executive, crisis and media relations to bring campaigns to life
- Drafting editorial calendars, follow review and approval process and schedule posts
- Providing in-person event coverage for social media and employee communications
- Monitoring and reporting campaign performance across key channels: Social, web, email, etc.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled seniors or recent graduates with interest in communications and brand strategy
- Interest in developing social media strategies and knowledge of existing and emerging platforms
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
- Must be able to contribute ideas in a creative atmosphere and collaborate with others
- Self-starter with strong project management, problem-solving and collaboration skills
