There Goes My Hero is a community based nonprofit organization that is dedicated to Saving Lives, Providing Hope and Helping those impacted by blood cancer.

This internship can be used FOR CREDIT or as Volunteer Experience.

The Social Media Specialist Intern will assist the Community Outreach Coordinator and Volunteer Coordinator, with There Goes My Hero marketing efforts. The individual will assist with tasks including photo and video production and editing, social media content creation, graphic design, writing and editing, and other Social Media related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications and Responsibilities:

Social Media

  • Must launch There Goes My Hero’s TikTok account
  • Must be a clever storyteller who is eager to communicate creatively using the latest TikTok trends
  • Design and plan social media content to educate about blood cancer and to promote There Goes My Hero on social platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn in collaboration with team
  • Research blood cancer and health related topics for educational posts and videos
  • Design and edit flyers in Canva for events as needed
  • Great organizational and project management skills with the ability to self-direct projects.
  • Attend bone marrow registry drives as needed
  • Must have an enthusiastic and outgoing personality and feel comfortable being in front of the camera
  • Must have a passion for volunteering and helping others.

Writing

  • Plan and research topics to write blogs about blood cancer for use on website and newsletters
  • Convey information clearly and correctly in posts and flyers
  • Copywriting & Editing
