Marketing Communications & Public Relations Specialist, Senior
General Description

Reporting to the marketing manager, the senior marketing, communications and public relations specialist focuses on the coordination and execution of a variety of marketing projects to support recruitment and strengthen brand awareness for Duke Health as an employer of choice.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee all communication/marketing aspects of recruitment events. This includes, but is not limited to: creating slides and helping with programming, developing marketing materials to support and advertise events internally and externally, and purchasing giveaways and coordinating booth displays for in-person events.
- Help to maintain, utilize, and champion outreach to potential candidates with our candidate relationship management database through email creation and storytelling.
- Partner with corporate marketing, talent acquisition, and other internal stakeholders to create and update all recruitment-related communications and onboarding experience materials, in accordance with Duke Health policies and our employer brand guides.
- Train and advise internal stakeholders on social media engagement, best practices, and posting from events.
- Aid in the creation of digital marketing campaigns to support recruitment objectives and help to analyze existing data and industry best practices to come up with recommendations that inform future digital marketing strategy.
- Assist to build and deliver trainings to create Duke Health’s team member advocacy program.
- Maintain a strong understanding of culture, industry, trends, new and emerging platforms and be comfortable experimenting with new ideas and new ways to reach candidates.
- Triage requests to ensure they are addressed in a timely manner, and that appropriate stakeholders are consulted so projects are completed on time and within budget.

Preferred Education
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing or equivalent
You’ll Bring
- Familiarity with Google Analytics
- Excellent editorial skills with project management experience
- Strong writing skills
- The ability to interface with websites, social media tools and other technologies.
- Experience with the Canva and the Adobe Creative Suite
- Understanding of advertising and principles of marketing
- Ability to serve as an advocate for individuals of all ethnicities, genders, ages and backgrounds.

Required Qualifications at this Level
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Journalism, Business or related field is required.
- Experience: Two years of directly related experience is required.

- Strong writing skills, understanding and ability to interface with websites, social media tools and other technologies, understanding of advertising and principles of marketing.
