Job Summary:

As a Marketing Intern, you will participate in training and projects within various corporate marketing functions: copywriting, web content management, social media marketing, project management, etc. This full-time, paid internship is based out of our Walsworth – Overland Park office and reports to the Yearbook Marketing Manager.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist with email marketing and social media marketing campaigns
  • Assist with web content management system (CMS) functions
  • Assist with employer branding initiatives
  • Research and report on current marketing and industry trends
  • Create digital and printed marketing materials
  • Comply with all safety and work rules and regulations.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Basic understanding of marketing functions and operations
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects.
  • Ability to remain organized and self-directed in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to interface with a variety of individuals or groups on a frequent basis.
  • Ability to work with limited direction and supervision
  • Ability to learn computer applications as necessary for the position.
  • Ability to read, interpret and follow verbal and written instructions, work procedures and other related materials.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including strong customer service skills.
  • Must communicate appropriate information accurately and clearly as needed.

 Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)
  • Have reliable transportation to and from the assigned office location (required)
  • Completion of at least 60 credit hours towards marketing, communications, journalism or related degree program (strongly preferred) 
  • 1 year of experience in a marketing-related function (preferred)
  • Yearbook, newspaper, or related journalism experience (preferred)
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen (required)
