Introduction & Mission:

Social media marketing has become fundamental to consumer education and acquisition in nearly all industries; however, private medical practices have been slow to engage. This leaves an underserved population of patients who are not able to receive preventative and often life saving treatments, which are rarely offered locally. This particular medical marketing position comes out of the need to improve visibility of medical innovation and services which perspective patients are not aware of.

The mission for this practice is to preform novel surgeries that are not available locally. The Limb Lengthening and Complex Reconstruction Service at HSS looks to bridge this gap. Social media has given patients the opportunity to engage in these novel services to save and improve their lives.

Dr. Austin Fragomen MD is an expert in limb deformity surgery and a professor of clinical orthopedic surgery. He is looking to recruit a marketing team to educate patients and physicians on his medical procedures and patient satisfaction through social media platforms. Job Description:

As a digital marketing intern, you will

  • be responsible for aggregate patient photos and testimonials to be posted
  • maintain consistent, professional brand image
  • interview patients for later use in marketing
  • use analytics to run lean marketing campaign
  • maintain social media posting schedule
  • create content on-sight as needed (flexible)
  • 5-10 hours per week (flexible)

This position is ideal for a student or recent graduate who is interested in creating a marketing strategy, referencing collected analytics, and efficiently allocating funds to marketing campaign.

Required Qualifications:

  • Studying or recently graduating with degree in marketing, communications, or equivalent area of studies
  • Willing to visit office in person weekly or biweekly
  • Able to present professionally to patients and medical staff
  • Self starting and motivated to engage in and develop marketing initiatives
  • Strong proficiency in design (Canva, Adobe Photoshop/ Illustrator, or preferred design software)
  • Past experience in digital marketing or PR is preferred
  • Must be in tri-state area

Purposes: help connect patients and doctors, help educate patients to understand what services are out there

Compensation:

min. $15-30 per hour

compensation will be based on professionalism, creativity, enthusiasm, and marketing metrics
