Funding Your Gift

There are many ways to make a contribution to the SJMC at FIU. Most donors make gifts and pledge payments via online giving, check, credit card, automatic bank drafts or even payroll deduction. Others utilize tax savings or incorporate gifts from financial & estate plans.

Electronic Funds Transfer

An Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) works in cooperation with your bank, similar to direct deposit & other electronic banking systems. The transaction is completed without paper handling.

Securities

Donor stock transfers allow donors to gift their stocks to Florida International University.

Real Estate

The SJMC at Florida International University welcomes gifts of real estate, as they are an excellent choice for a charitable gift and can entitle donors to a charitable deduction of the full gross market value of the property.

Employer Matching Gifts

Many companies will match or multiply a donation made to a charitable organization through their matching gift program. Check with your Human Resources Department to see if you can increase the size of your gift!

State Matching Programs

The Major Gift Challenge program was created to encourage partnerships between the private sector and state universities. This program will match private endowment gifts, as funds allow, supporting libraries, instruction and research programs.
