EQUITY AND EQUALITY OF THE SEXES IN COMMUNICATION: ARE WOMEN GETTING THERE?

Susan Goldberg, editorial director of National Geographic Partners and the first woman editor-in-chief of National Geographic magazine; Dianne Lynch, president of Stephens College, the second oldest women’s college in the U.S.; Judy VanSlyke Turk, research fellow, Kopenhaver Center for the Advancement of Women in Communication, FIU, and professor emerita, VCU; and Cheryl Carpenter, Washington Bureau chief for McClatchy Newspapers.  Panelists will analyze the status and role of women in communication, emphasizing their role in leadership positions in the fields of advertising, broadcasting, digital media, magazines, journalism and public relations, and discuss the results of the 2016 national research study on the topic conducted by the Kopenhaver Center.
