National Association of Hispanic Journalist Honors Mindy Marques

Join us in congratulating Kopenhaver Center Leadership Council member Mindy Marques in receiving the NAHJ Presidential Award of Impact.  The National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ) is dedicated to the recognition and professional advancement of Hispanics in the news industry. Established in April 1984, NAHJ created a national voice and unified vision for all Hispanic journalists.

The National Association of Hispanic Journalists will bestow the 2016 NAHJ Presidential Award of Impact to Mindy Marques, Executive Editor and Vice President for News at the Miami Herald.

“Mindy not only represents the top layer of journalism leadership in the country, but is the only Latina editor of a large mainstream newspaper,” said Mekahlo Medina, NAHJ President. “Mindy is a product of NAHJ and she continues to hold true to our mission of more Latinos in American newsrooms. I am honored to recognize her work, achievements and her career at this year’s conference.”

NAHJ will present the award to Ms. Marques at the Hall of Fame and Honors Luncheon at our national conference #NABJNAHJ16 on August 5th, 2016 in Washington, DC.
