Amalia Rosales

Amalia Rosales is a Cuban American undergraduate student at Florida International University (FIU) who has been pursuing her passion for music since age 10. Born and raised in Cuba, she studied at the Escuela Vocacional de Arte, a performing arts conservatory, while taking private guitar lessons. After moving to the United States with her family, she attended Miami Arts Studio, where she refined her skills in choral music, sight-reading, ear training, and music theory.

Amalia is majoring in Classical Voice Performance and Music Therapy, combining her love for singing with her dedication to helping others. She is also re-learning piano and guitar while building her opera and oratorio works repertoire.

Amalia has participated in numerous competitive opportunities, including performing with the Florida Vocal Association’s (FVA) All-State Sight-Reading Chorus for three consecutive years. She recently earned third place in her first National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) competition. Some of her most memorable performances have been alongside Seraphic Fire, the Aeolians, Gloria Estefan, Yandel, and members of the Florida Grand Opera (FGO) Studio and Canto programs. Her experience as a choral member and soloist has taken her to prestigious venues such as the Adrienne Arsht Center, the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, the Orlando Repertory Theatre, and Carnegie Hall.

Outside of school, Amalia is a section leader in a church choir and teaches private lessons in vocal technique, sight-singing, and ear training. While committed to her professional and academic growth, she prioritizes time for her hobbies and family.

Beyond music, Amalia is fascinated by the worlds of psychoanalysis and preventative medicine. She intends to integrate her music career with psychodynamic and integrative medicine practices to provide her audience and clients with a holistic and individualized experience. A deep and ambitious believer in the healing power of music, Amalia is committed to making a meaningful impact on people’s lives through powerful performances, supportive teaching, and holistic music therapy.
