Carla Zensen | Program Coordinator
Carla Zensen is currently the Program Coordinator at the Lillian Lodge Kopenhaver Center for the Advancement in Women in Communication. Zensen holds a Master of Science in Marketing from Southern New Hampshire University, with a special track in social media, and a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, specializing in business administration.
Zensen has an extensive 18-year background in education and experience in both international and domestic schools. She started her career at Miami Dade College as the Program Manager Assistant for the GED/VESOL Program, where she assisted with budgets, student guidance, training seminars, and program presentations.
In 2005, Zensen served as the program assistant for the FIU MBA program. In 2019, she returned to the FIU family to join the Kopenhaver Center. As Program Coordinator, she plays a vital role in supporting the center’s programming and marketing efforts.
Her dedication lies in keeping up with technology, marketing, and empowering women. As a proud Latina, her upbringing in Ecuador has shaped her commitment to cultural diversity and inclusivity. Zensen’s mission is to advance these principles through innovative technology and inclusive practices, working to ensure that Hispanic women are empowered and represented in the field of communication and beyond.
Carla enjoys spending time with her family and fur babies, Maple and Cannoli.
