Carla Zensen is the Senior Program Coordinator at the Lillian Lodge Kopenhaver Center for the Advancement of Women in Communication at Florida International University. Carla holds a Master of Science in Marketing from Southern New Hampshire University, specializing in social media, and a Bachelor’s Degree in marketing with a business administration focus. With over 20 years of experience in educational marketing administration across both international and domestic institutions, Carla began her career at Miami Dade College before joining FIU in 2005 and returning in 2019 to her current role at the Kopenhaver Center. She oversees operations, finances, programming, and marketing initiatives to ensure successful and impactful student-focused programs.

A proud Latina raised in Ecuador, Carla’s commitment to diversity, equity, and empowerment is reflected in her dedication to advancing marketing strategies, embracing technology, and creating inclusive spaces for women to thrive.Carla specializes in strategic communications, podcast development, and content creation, leveraging mentorship to empower others and foster career growth. As a bilingual communicator, she blends a purpose-driven and inclusive mindset with innovative technology to advance meaningful impact.

Carla serves on the board of FemCity Miami-Shores chapter and is an active member of Latinas-in-Tech Miami. Outside of her professional pursuits, Carla enjoys time with her family and her beloved dogs, Maple and Cannoli.
