Women in Communication:  Thought Leaders

The Kopenhaver Center’s Thought Leaders Experts List compiles information on women scholars, media leaders and corporate experts in the field of communication who can provide world-class ideas and expert guidance on contemporary issues to ensure positive transformational conversations and change.

The Center provides training programs for young women to enable them to move into management positions in the professions we serve. Women are 51 percent of the population, yet there are few women in leadership roles in the communication industries. In fact, according to Forbes.com, only 14 percent of women are senior managers in all industries

When half the population is female, those who are the communication providers must ensure that the messages our society receives about itself are representative of all of its population.  The Kopenhaver Center’s goal is to provide leadership training and mentorship programs to enable young women to have the tools to be better represented at the table where the decision-making process is taking place.

We thus hope to build more diversity in leadership, resulting in a new and exciting group of managers and leaders who reflect the population of this country.
