News Director WFOR-TV/CBS4 in South Florida

liz-roldan-web-headshot_new-2Liz Roldan is the News Director of WFOR-TV/CBS4 in South Florida.  She has worked at the station since 2011, when she started as Executive Producer, Special Projects and Investigations.

A nine-time Emmy Award-winning journalist, Ms. Roldan has worked for the past 25 years in the South Florida television market. Before joining CBS4, she was Managing Editor at WTVJ/ NBC6 from 2000 to 2008. Previously, she worked as the NBC6 News Special Projects Producer and Assignment Manager.  Interestingly, before joining NBC6, she worked at CBS4 News from the early to mid ‘90s.

Ms. Roldan is on the Board of Directors of the Suncoast Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and is a proud member of IRE, Investigative Reporters & Editors, Inc. She was selected as a “Woman of Influence” by Ocean Drive Magazine. Liz is currently serving a mentor on the Leadership Mentors Program of the Lillian Lodge Kopenhaver Center for the Advancement of Women in Communication at the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Florida International University.

A much sought-after speaker, in recent years Liz has participated as a panelist at Investigative Reporters & Editors conferences; as a speaker at various journalism student events at the University of Miami and Florida International University; as a panelist at women leadership and empowerment conferences and guest lecturer at her alma mater, the University of Texas at Austin. She also has participated as a recruiter on behalf of the CBS Television Stations group at various minority journalist national conferences including the National Association of Hispanic Journalists Annual Conference and the National Association of Black Journalists Annual Conference.  Liz is of Cuban-American descent, was raised in Houston, Texas and studied broadcast journalism at the University of Texas at Austin.
