Christian Portilla is a freelance journalist for hire who graduated from Florida International University with a Bachelor’s in Mass Communication and Journalism. She started her career via an independent music blog writing about the artists and shows she attended. Now, she focuses on covering community, culture and style on her site www.roamfreewrites.com while contributing to South Florida publications Miami Herald and Miami New Times. You’ll usually find Christian on Instagram capturing behind-the-scenes of her assignments on @RoamFreeWrites. In the future, Christian plans on going into radio journalism and incorporating her love for travel in her coverage, bringing attention to the diversity and culture of other communities.
