Ramona Shine

Ramona  “Grace” Shine is a true global citizen, calling Miami, Munich, Los Angeles, and the DMV home. Born to a German immigrant mother and an American father, she has developed a deep appreciation for diverse social and cultural perspectives.

After earning an associate degree in business, art, and computers from the esteemed Anne Arundel Community College, she transferred to FIU as a second-generation Panther. There, she became the president of the National Communication Honor Society’s Lambda Pi Eta FIU chapter for 2024-2025. She served as a mentor in the Transfer2Transfer Mentorship program and repeatedly earned a spot on the Dean’s List.

In addition to her academic pursuits, Shine creates sustainable, bespoke macrame and crochet fiber art for clients and her daughter. She has also volunteered at a local food pantry and her church bible camp, demonstrating her commitment to community service.
As a PRAAC major and hospitality minor, she aims to continue growing as a communicator, leading with patience, grace, and understanding.
