Vanessa Lasso Altamirano
Vanessa is an Ecuadorian architect currently pursuing a master’s degree in Landscape Architecture, with a focus on sustainable urban, architectural, and landscape design. Her work centers on creating inclusive environments that serve everyone and on shaping cities around dignified mobility, meaningful public spaces, and strong connections between people, infrastructure, and nature.
She believes that built environments hold collective memory and that design has the power to strengthen identity, reduce inequalities, and improve quality of life. Vanessa has collaborated with multidisciplinary teams across private firms, NGOs, and research initiatives, contributing to projects related to sustainable mobility, public space design, and environmentally responsive strategies. She combines strong technical skills in digital modeling and visualization with a human-centered and collaborative approach.
As she enters the professional market, Vanessa seeks opportunities to develop urban and landscape interventions that create resilient, equitable, and community-oriented spaces. Outside of work, she enjoys exploring new cultures and learning languages, bringing curiosity and empathy into both her life and practice.
