Dear CARTA Graduating Class of 2020,
On behalf of the College of Communication, Architecture + The Arts, I’d like to congratulate each and every one of you on your great accomplishments!
Your last semester on campus was a time I know you and your families had been anticipating for many years. For some, you have earned your undergraduate degrees; for others, this marks the culmination of your graduate and professional degrees. I am as heartbroken as you that your final weeks on campus were spent mostly in virtual classrooms. I am, however, very proud of the resilience that you and the faculty have all put forth and the focus on finishing your studies strong.
Your academic contributions, your dedication to our college organizations and groups, and your desire to continuously learn and innovate have been invaluable to CARTA, and we are grateful for the legacy that you’re leaving behind.
Although you’re graduating, you will always be a member of the CARTA family and of our FIU. We encourage you to stay connected with our college, especially during these unprecedented times. Reach out to the CARTA Career Specialists for career advice and assistance. Join the Alumni Association; this will provide you the opportunity to further develop connections and strengthen your network. You will stay informed of possible career service opportunities, workshops, webinars, professional job databases, career fairs and career coaching. Now more than ever, it is important to surround yourself with a strong support system and your alma mater is here for you!
In the spirit of the Blue + Gold, wishing you and your family a wonderful holiday season and a happy and healthy new year.
Brian Schriner
