Intern, Universal Creative – Master Planning
JOB SUMMARY: The intern will gain an understanding of how theme parks are developed and planned through the support of Master Planning team on a variety of efforts across all of our Portfolios. The intern will be contributing to preliminary design solutions and ongoing project efforts that meet the needs of our partners and provide thoughtful design options to assist in achieving a successful guest experience that also meets our business needs.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develops communication tools for Senior Management,
- Provides support for the planning team and participates in planning related design discussions.
- Utilizes CAD, graphic software, and 3D modeling to learn how to make the most of partner input and planning experience on projects such as theme park expansion efforts and new business opportunities to develop quick iterations for Senior Management to respond and react to.
- Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training, and Team Member involvement activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
- In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution with current class standing of Junior or above.
- Recent graduates will not be eligible for this program.
- Minimum cumulative 2.8 GPA is required.
- An official transcript may be required upon request.
- Preferred majors include: Architecture, Urban/Regional Planning, Urban Design, Themed Entertainment
- Preferred coursework completed: Architecture, Urban/Regional Planning, and/or Landscape Architecture.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Preferable skills for success in role include but not limited to:
- Required proficiency with the Adobe Suite and CAD.
- Preferred experience with GIS.
- Preferred familiarity with datasets and ability to build graphic presentations.
- Must be efficient in Microsoft Office Programs including, but not limited to: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities and organization.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Superior written & verbal communication skills.
- Work in a fast-paced environment and adhere to deadlines.

Internship, Universal Creative – Area Development
JOB SUMMARY: Intern will assist in area development tasks for an ongoing construction site by participating in site inspections, product submittal processes, tree planning and planting, tree inspections, irrigation inspections, shop drawing reviews, and ongoing design efforts.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Attends daily coordination meetings.
- Accompanies leadership on construction site walks.
- Participates in drawing review and field inspections.
- Utilizes CAD for drawings for tree plans, rail and fence detailing, coordination for hardscape pours, and scheduling.
- Assists management of RFI, submittals, and shop drawing submissions.
- Ensures that construction complies with plans and specifications with support from leadership.
- Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training, and Team Member involvement activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
- In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution with current class standing of Junior or above.

Internship, Universal Creative – Attraction Design
JOB SUMMARY: Intern will work on modeling, animating, and rendering attraction concepts under guidance and direction, utilizing 3D animation software. Learning objectives include modeling, rigging, and animating ride systems to follow a path through animated show scenes, incorporating designs from and collaborating with various disciplines for creative and technical evaluation. The intern will also learn about the creative design and development process of attractions from early ideation through concept development.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Creates 3D models, rigs, and animates ride systems and mechanical show equipment from CAD drawings, or optimizes imported models.
- Crafts 3D models, textures, and animates show scenes while incorporating designs from various other designers.
- Outputs scene studies as animatics for creative and technical review.
- Iterates and develops ideas based on guidance and feedback from leadership and team members.
- Assists with iteration and development of future attractions currently in production utilizing 3D software.
- Participates in brainstorming meetings for new ride concepts and ideas.
- Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training, and Team Member involvement activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Creative & technical thinker/designer/animator with a passion for the theme park industry preferred.
- Required proficiency with 3D Studio Max or Maya, with modeling and animation skills that represent attention to detail, real-world scale, and realistic motion.
- Must be efficient in Microsoft Office Programs including, but not limited to: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities and organization.
