Remote Academic Advising
To help ensure that we continue to safeguard the health and well-being of our FIU community, we have transitioned all academic advising from face-to-face to virtual sessions using Zoom technology.
Undergraduate and Graduate Students: To make an appointment with Cory or Michelle, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and be sure to include in the subject you name, PID and advisor you would like to make an appointment with (Roary Panther, PID 1234567, Michelle). In your email, include three dates and times you are available to meet with your advisor and a short comment as to what the appointment is in regards to if other than advising for Summer and Fall.
To participate in a Zoom online appointment, please make sure that you’ve downloaded the Zoom technology onto your computer or phone. Additional information and instructions on downloading and using Zoom as an attendee can be found here: Getting Started with Zoom
In addition, you should have access to a computer/laptop to view your Panther Degree Audit, as well as be in a location conducive to having your advising session.
Course registration for summer and fall will still occur as scheduled
All classes have transitioned to remote learning and include Summer A and C. This date may change, so the university will continue to communicate with you about this. Please monitor your FIU email and the FIU Homepage for important updates.
Helpful information about transitioning to fully online classes can be found here: Getting Started with Canvas
