Zinaida Hirlemann graduated with a BA in Management. She joined FIU in 2011 after having worked in the private sector for 23 years as a Financial Analyst. She currently serves as the Program Coordinator for the FIU Departments of Interior Architecture and Landscape Architecture + Environmental and Urban Design. Her primary duties include budgeting, forecasting, analyzing the activities of various funding sources, and supporting the departments in all administrative, class scheduling, events, logistics and personnel-related matters.

Mayra graduated from Florida International University with a BA in Psychology. She has worked at Broward College as an Academic Advisor. Mayra is currently the Admissions Officer for The FIU College of Communication, Architecture + The Arts. She is responsible for coordinating student recruitment, guiding students through admissions, and advising prospective FIU School of Architecture students. Mayra is bilingual in both English and Spanish.

Cory Fairfield began his career with the College of Communication, Architecture + the Arts in November of 2017 and originally started working for FIU at Onestop Enrollment Services. Cory currently advises students for Architecture, Interior Architecture, and Landscape Architecture Programs. He completed both his Undergraduate and Graduate degrees here at Florida International University and is currently working towards an Ed.D in Adult Education and Human Resource Development. Cory received a B.S. with Honors in Recreation and Sports Management and an M.A. in Disaster Management.

Michelle comes to CARTA with over 6 years of advising experience. She started advising at Miami Dade College – Kendall Campus. She then transitioned to FIU’s Department of Politics and International Relations and quickly became the lead advisor of the department. She has two bachelor degrees from FIU: one in Art, with a minor in Art History, and one in Religious Studies. Once she finished her undergraduate degrees, Michelle decided that higher education was her true calling and enrolled in the Master of Science program in Higher Education Administration, which she earned in 2013 from FIU. Michelle now serves as an academic advisor for Architecture, Interior Architecture, and Landscape Architecture.

Charlotte Raynaud

Born in Panama, of Bolivian and French decent raised in Miami, Charlotte is the Senior Special Events Manager at the School of Architecture at FIU.

She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Hospitality Management and has been in the events industry managing high-end catering events for 10 years, within multiple venues and cultural institutions Nationwide.  A few of those include, The Perez Art Museum of Miami (PAMM), Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science;  the National Gallery of Art in DC; The Barnes, The Horticulture Center and the Philadelphia Museum of Art in Philadelphia.

Andrea Perez has over 5 years of experience in marketing, public relations, content creation and social media management in both the corporate and start-up industries. In 2016, Andrea joined CARTA to manage and execute marketing initiatives for the School of Architecture and the Department of Art + Art History. Andrea holds a B.S. in Communications with a concentration in Public Relations from Florida International University and is currently a student in the Master’s Global Strategic Communications program.

Before coming to FIU, Mike Bisnett worked in electronics repairing audio, video, RF and power equipment. He also repaired computers and setup local area networks. In June of 2007, Mike joined the School of Architecture by managing the equipment in the digital lab.

Julian Ramirez

Julian started his career in design and fabrication in 2012 at FIU School of Architecture with a background in digital art. Since obtaining a Masters in Architecture in May of 2017, he has continued to pursue research in computational design and advanced fabrication techniques through a post-professional degree within FIU’s Robotics and Digital Fabrication Labs. Julian currently assists students and faculty with design projects by helping with the development of workflows and innovative solutions through our spectrum of resources.
