Andrea Sandoval received her Master of Landscape Architecture degree from Florida International University. She is now a registered Landscape Architect from the state of Florida with ten years of working experience. In 2022, Andrea joined the City of Miami’s Planning Department, Urban Design Division, where her focus has been on championing high-quality architecture, urban design, and landscape architecture throughout the City of Miami. She also manages different planning projects and conduct research studies and analysis of the City-wide form-based code. Andrea worked at ENEA Garden Design in 2021, prior to this she worked at Perkins&Will for six years. As a studio member, she developed a particular interest for conceptual design, while also exploring digital graphics and 3D modeling in Landscape Architecture. Andrea has worked on a variety of project types around the world contributing to all phases of design. In 2015, Andrea’s research and academic work on Sea-Level rise in Miami was showcased and presented as part of Perkins&Will Design Talks, exhibits, and articles. Her project, Symbiotic Adaptation, was displayed as part of the “Miami 2100: Envisioning a Resilient Second Century” at the Coral Gables Museum, and one of her renderings was published in the Miami Herald article “Could Miami become a buoyant city after all?” Symbiotic Adaptation was submitted to the FLASLA Design Awards in 2015, where Andrea received an Award of Honor for her submission. In time, Andrea aspires to expand her abilities as a landscape architect and help Landscape Architecture grow as a profession in Latin American countries.
