BPM: BEATS, PICS, & MASTERS is a compelling three-part visual art series by multi-hyphenate artist Rahassan “FLY GUY” Alexander and curated by Noëlle Françoise. The series explores the mental, emotional, and psychological tolls faced by DJs who dedicate their lives to entertaining audiences night after night.

A celebration and deep dive into the DJ’s journey, BPM aims to humanize these artists, offering viewers a fresh perspective on their lives beyond the turntables. In a post-pandemic world shaped by profound change, the series provides a poignant lens into the shared struggles and complexities of DJs worldwide—many of whom continue to navigate their demanding profession with resilience and passion.

Through striking visuals and powerful storytelling, Alexander invites audiences to understand the sacrifices and challenges that underpin the DJ lifestyle, shining a light on the humanity often overlooked in the nightlife and entertainment industries. “DJs are often seen as untouchable figures who bring joy and energy to every room they enter,” said Alexander. “But behind the beats are real people facing real struggles. BPM is my way of giving voice to those experiences and creating a space for empathy and dialogue.”

More than just an art series, BPM: BEATS, PICS, & MASTERS is a call to action—encouraging greater awareness and appreciation for the unsung heroes who bring life to our nights and music to our souls.
