Pre-Colombian Objects Meet MakerBot ARH 5837 U01 & ARH 3930 U02
Professor: Carol Damian
Dr. Carol Damian is leading a new course at the Miami Beach Urban Studios that introduces new strategies and approaches used in exhibition planning, development and implementation. It asks students to think critically about exhibitions and the interface between objects, concept, and experience. The course will take a unique approach to the creation of an exhibition as the final project by using the Toro Collection of Pre-Columbian Art at MBUS. It will explore new technologies to research, analyze and display the objects with the use of 3-D printing and virtual reality and their potential for installation design and information.
This course is being offered exclusively for Museum Studies, Curatorial Practice and Art History Students. If you would like more information please contact Dr. Damian at damianc@fiu.edu.
