Exhibition Opening Reception: Kim Moore2015-08-31T12:58:44-04:00
Statement from Kimberly Moore: Each day, dishes are used, washed, and arranged in the dish drainer. The arrangement changes throughout the day. Each morning, the still life is dismantled and put away. This ritual is performed daily, before making breakfast, and prefaces the start of a new day. It is a meditative activity that signifies a new beginning. The act of painting transforms the images of plates, cutlery, and pitchers into something more mysterious, transcending the act of work. The dishes float upward in an ethereal space, moving between flatness and voluminousness.  For more information on Kimberly Moore, click here.
