Exhibition:  “Piccole Utopie”

Location: The Long Hall Gallery

Link: The exhibition in Athens.

Description: This exciting exhibition displays works of young Italian architects and designers, who have worked, at least in part, on the MAXXI courtyard design project, which was formulated after the PS1 Young Architects Projects founded by Terrence Riley and produced by PS1 MoMA in New York City.  According to 9colonne.it, “[t]he display is a vital reconnaissance into the fabric of ‘new’ Italian architecture, developed through a process that moves along three parallel directions: authors, projects, and themes. The overlap of these points, taken as selection criteria, allows to identify some of the most interesting subjects and give a glimpse of this changing discipline. The traveling exhibition “Piccole Utopie” was developed by Pippo Ciorra, sponsored by MAXXI and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The display brings the work of 10 architectural firms on ecology and sustainability, new technologies, public spaces and the relationship between old and new communities, innovation in the forms, techniques and materials, recycling, landscape, residential projects and, relationship with the historical heritage. stARTT is one of the ten selected groups along with bam!, Matilde Cassani, Elastic Spa, Maria Giuseppina Grasso Cannizzo, Labics, Modus architects, Obr, Umberto Riva, and Cino Zucchi Architetti. Sponsored by Pininfarina and the Consolato Generale d’Italia Miami.
