Felice Grodin and Elite Kedan will discuss their work as members of Alliance of the Southern Triangle (A.S.T.) — a transdisciplinary initiative exploring artistic and cultural strategies for reimagining latent futures, specifically in the context of climate change. The collaborative began as a research project focusing on the global city, with Miami as case study. We are interested in the future of coastal cities, or what we term The Contemporary Coast. Indicative of this condition is a call for new means and methods of critical communication and messaging. Our project is committed to the notion that the interdisciplinary space of art can be used as a platform to generate and communicate responsive propositions relative to the economic, cultural and environmental forces that shape our futures.
