Starting with a BFA in Photography and Sculpture from the Massachusetts College of Art, Alessandra Mondolfi’s creative practice has always embodied the title “multi-disciplinary”.

Her fine art has ranged from altered photographs to elaborate large scale multimedia installations, exhibited both nationally and internationally, for which she has received multiple grants and awards, most notably a Fulbright Grant to Barcelona, Spain.

In 2016, Alessandra’s creative practice shifted towards activism addressing both environmental and social issues. Her “Props for Protest” have been deployed in numerous local and national actions, drawing a significant amount of local, national and international coverage from media outlets such as The New York Times, The Washington Post, CNN, The Guardian, Voxx and The Rachel Maddow Show. Several of these props have been acquired for both a traveling exhibition and for HistoryMiami Museum’s archived collection as well as being exhibited in various galleries. In 2019 she received the Maurice Rosen Act of Courage Award from the ACLU of Florida. Additionally, her creative resistance work has taken the form of street performances, short videos disseminated on social media platforms, jewelry and street art wheat pastings/interventions.
