Maria Lino holds a Bachelor of Science in Studio Art from New York University, and a Master of Fine Arts from Florida International University. She is a Fulbright US Scholar and a two-time recipient of the Oscar B. Cintas Fellowship. As a visual artist, her art work often deals with movement and interdisciplinary storytelling, focusing on the rhythmic repetition of the everyday using drawing, printmaking, text, video, dance, and textiles, to create individual and group portraits of those who are often overlooked, such as women, children, people with disabilities, migrants and immigrants. Maria has exhibited her work extensively in both solo and group exhibitions throughout the U.S. and abroad.
