The closing concert of the New Music Miami ISCM Festival will feature award-winning guest composer Zosha Di Castri’s music, including her string quartet performed by FIU artists-in-residence, Amernet String Quartet, and her piano music played by FIU faculty Chen-Hui Jen. In addition, Jacob Sudol’s string quartet will be performed by the Amernet, and works by Alvin Singleton, Caroline Shaw, Paula Matthusen, Mario Lavista, and Orlando Jacinto Garcia will be presented by members of the FIU-based NODUS Ensemble.

The New Music Miami Festival has championed and presented cutting-edge contemporary classical music over its 24 years of existence, including music for soloists, chamber ensembles, and music with video and electronics.

Organized by the FIU School of Music and presented with the support of the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs and the Cultural Affairs Council, the Miami-Dade County Mayor and Board of County Commissioners, the City of Miami Beach, FIU Miami Beach Urban Studios, and the Kimberly Green Latin American and the Caribbean Center at FIU.
