Viscera Cocoon, Carbonized in Fire, 2019
Pit-fired earthenware

Collective and autonomous, my ceramic vessels are created through my body with clay. With every coiling gesture, a presence is enacted, forming a bodily relationship. The sensations of red iron oxides and burnt carbon are the remnants of a primitive firing at “Lost Lakes”. I seek to revitalize these ancient methods with themes on spirituality and mortality.
