In Spring 2020, the Herbert and Nicole Wertheim School of Music & Performing Arts will offer a musical theatre workshop led by seasoned Broadway performer and songwriter, Ann Anello. She is regarded as one of the most important stage performers of her generation.

In order to take the workshop, students must audition on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 from 4pm – 8pm in the Recital Hall (Room 150) at the Herbert and Nicole Wertheim School of Music & Performing Arts. Auditions are open to all FIU students. Students can sign up for an audition time online by clicking here. All accepted students will be notified within one week after the audition. Please be prepared to sing two contrasting musical theatre selections from memory. Bring a hard copy of sheet music. A pianist will be provided.

About the course:

Students will develop their musical style, audition skills, and stagecraft! Students will also explore the nuts and bolts of musical theatre itself – singing, movement, and acting – and how this highly popular genre of American entertainment takes on many dimensions. Singers in the workshop will give a final performance at the end of the semester.
