EDUCATION: 

To be eligible to be a Student Associate, students must meet the following criteria:   

  • Undergraduate candidates with a class status of junior or above and graduate candidates are preferred   
  • Provide a letter from your school verifying enrollment.   
  • College credit is based on individual school policy; it is not required for the program.   
  • Student Associates may work a minimum 21-hour work week and a maximum 35-hour work week (35 hours required for the summer semester).   
  • GPA of 3.2 or above is required  

ROLE SUMMARY: 

As Photo Services Student Associate, you will assist in a variety of tasks and activities including the archiving and filing of images, maintaining equipment, and scanning and retouching photos. You will also have the opportunity to provide support during photo shoots. This role is for an individual able to work on multiple projects simultaneously, eager to participate in diverse projects involving creative services.  

 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Scan and retouch photos to established technical standards 
  • Routine back-up of digital files 
  • Caption and archive images into database 
  • Make photo prints 
  • Maintain records relating to digital images 
  • Maintain records of department activity 
  • Maintain inventory of equipment and supplies 
  • Assist with photo shoots as required 
  • Assist with photo requests and editing as required 
  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned 

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Strong background in photography/graphic arts, journalism and/or creative services 
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills 
  • Proficiency in digital imaging technology and processes, including scanning, retouching and file formats (experience on Macintosh platform required) 
  • Extensive experience with Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Photoshop, Bridge and Lightroom, and proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
