Duties:
A teacher at the Brockton School district is asked to be dedicated to providing the best instruction possible using the standards and curriculum provided, yet being inventive enough to find additional resources to make learning engaging for their students. Good classroom management is important to assure that students are engaged in the learning process and not with distractions. The Brockton School district has implemented the PAX Behavior Game within all K-8th grade classrooms, and training will be provided to new teachers if they are not trained in the use of PAX. Teachers are expected to create lesson plans that align with the required standards for their grade level and provide their administrator with weekly copies of their lesson plans. Teachers will be required to administer both MAPS and SBAC computerized testing depending on the grade level they teach. Teachers eat lunch with their students and will be assigned recess duties. We take a team approach here at Brockton and are looking for teachers who will add in a variety of ways to the team outside of their classroom, perhaps you as musical or theatactrical and wish to take on a play involving our student body or you have extensive knowledge in a computer program that you can teach to other staff members or maybe you want to head up a book club for staff. Staff members are also invited to indicate interest in any open coaching positions we have or simply come and support our teams.
