BEST. SUMMER. EVER.

YMCA Camp Santa Maria is seeking mentors to grab the proverbial compass and guide campers, and possibly staff, to an extraordinarily memorable summer at our picturesque overnight camp nestled in the heart of the Rocky Mountains near Grant, CO.

We are looking for always-positive, occasionally silly staff members who have a passion for working with kids. And when we say “working with kids,” we mean creating a transformative summer camp experience for each child, helping campers nurture lifelong friendships, infusing empathy into every interaction and bringing warmth, inclusivity and respect into every activity.

Each staff member provides leadership, direction and supervision in all aspects of camp life. From arts and crafts to sports and games ‘ and pretty much everything in between ‘ our staff have the chance to develop skills in planning, preparing, problem-solving and facilitating age-appropriate activities in large and small groups. We don’t like to brag, but these leadership skills will shine on resumes and job applications for years to come.

Beyond being able to foster community and mentor kiddos, our ideal candidates understand the power of community and teamwork and are eager to work with other members of our staff team 24 hours a day, 7 days a week throughout the summer. We are looking for staff with an “I’ve got this” mindset, who show initiative and a solutions-minded attitude whether they’re dealing with a homesick camper, a lightning strike or a pirate attack*.
