GMA3: What You Need to Know is a news, health and lifestyle program. It’s the third hour of GMA and is co-hosted by T.J. Holmes, Amy Robach and Dr. Jennifer Ashton. 

As an intern at GMA3, you will perform a variety of duties that are invaluable to the show’s success. Your duties will not only help the production staff in creating our daily show but also help you learn and grow, setting you up for a successful and exciting career in broadcast journalism. The internship will consist of putting together research packets, booking potential guests, maintaining a production calendar, pitching segment ideas as well as general administrative support.

A day in the life…

  • Observe the control room and studio floor
  • Assist/shadow segment producers during preparation, rehearsal and execution of segments
  • Assist with production needs on occasional field shoots
  • Assist with general office needs
  • Some of the departments you could be working in are writing, research, studio operations, field and series, booking and social media

What you bring to the role…

  • A demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong editing skills
  • Knowledge and familiarity with the show
  • A strong interest in production and television 
  • Proven skills utilizing Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

 

Preferred Qualifications

•Recent graduates

•Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office with an emphasis in MS Word, Access, Excel & PowerPoint

•Previous internship experience, either print or broadcast

•Some experience related to social media including Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, YouTube 

Internship Eligibility

  • Must possess unrestricted work authorization
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • At the time of application, must currently be enrolled in an accredited college or university and taking at least one class – OR – be a recent graduate of an accredited college or university within the last 6 months – OR – be currently participating in the Disney College Program, Disney Culinary Program or Disney Professional Internship Program
  • Must be willing to work in the New York City area and provide your own housing and transportation for the duration of the internship
  • Must be able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the session
  • Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program

Program Dates

  • Must be available from January to May 2022
  • Must be willing to work 40 hours/week (weekdays). Interns could work up to 3 days in the office and the other days remote.
