** Due to C19, we are offering this internship as a fully remote internship. **

Some in-office hours are preferable, but not required.

An internship with The World Music Foundation provides real-world music business experience under knowledgeable, professional supervision while you tangibly advance our nonprofit mission of opening minds through music! …no busy work or fetching coffee here.

Our offices are located at 6033 N Sheridan Rd, in the Captain’s Walk commercial mall.

We’re just 2 blocks from the Thorndale red line stop and we also have complementary valet parking.

We’re currently accepting applications for the position of Podcast Production Intern.

Opportunities are available for involvement in all aspects of producing a polished and engaging podcast.

You will learn about and gain real-world experience in the following areas:

  • Assisting with audio engineering
  • Editing, recording, and mixing
  • Reaching out to and researching celebrity guests
  • Obtaining guest bios, head shots and song clearance
  • Maintaining communication with guests and artists’ management
  • Writing, editing, and publishing show notes
  • Researching instruments, musical styles and artists from around the world
  • Creating audio and video clips for Social
  • Helping to manage episode workflow

Students should consult with academic faculty to determine if this unpaid experience will earn credit.

Please be clear and upfront regarding your capabilities and what you hope to learn and improve upon. We do not expect you to be an expert in any area, but it’s helpful to know where you have considerable experience and also where you do not, so that we can be as helpful to you as possible.

We are very committed to training and mentoring the right candidate and you will be working closely with our Executive Director, so there will be ample opportunity for both.

Previous experience with audio editing (Audition, Audacity, etc) is nearly a requirement for obvious reasons, but even this we would teach from scratch for the right candidate. Other desirable qualities are great organizational skills, recording experience, social media savvy, and ideally a strong interest in music and/or world cultures.

But the one non-negotiable for this position is a strong work ethic.

We look forward to hearing from you!
