Leading global talent, entertainment, and sports agency UTA is looking for an Assistant to support two Executives within UTA IQ, its data, research, and digital strategy division. This newly created role sits within a subset of the department focused on trendspotting and consumer insights to create compelling written reports for the agency, its talent, and brand clients.
The ideal candidate is skilled at writing and editing, is curious about consumer behaviour and trends, and is a strategic thinker who thrives in a fast-paced environment. Candidates must have a passion for the entertainment industry, pop culture, and how brands across all industries can increase their cultural relevance by capturing the zeitgeist. Candidates must be willing to work both independently and collaboratively on research and writing assignments, as well as providing light administrative duties, such as managing calendars and client contracts.
This is an ideal position for someone looking to start and grow their career in trendspotting and data-storytelling, be hands-on in the creation of dynamic trend reports, and help review all presentations that UTA IQ produces.
What You’ll Do
- Conduct desk research, including gathering published studies about entertainment and consumer behaviour, relevant industry articles, and sticky strategies from brands/marketers
- Support IQ’s Cultural Insights team in identifying and writing entertainment and brand-led trend reports
- Copyedit and enhance the narrative of written decks for UTA’s clients across TV, film, music, podcasts, publishing, and more
- Write one brief UTA newsletter a week about clients’ social media performances
- Help field consumer polls and short surveys to support work for UTA’s talent and brand clients
- Manage calendar and client contracts
What You Need
- Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred but not required
- Experience in a writing or editing role, whether at a previous job or internship is strongly preferred
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Strong PowerPoint skills in particular are a plus!
- Curiosity for data and willingness to learn about how to interpret and write short surveys
