Internship, Apprenticeship, and Career Opportunities
COMPANY SUMMARY
Jazz Crawl Productions is a community-minded cultural event and documentary media organization with a focus on collaborative performances, programs, exhibits, parties, parades and more. Inspired by the magic of New Orleans and the community-bonding tradition of the second line, we showcase local musicians, dancers, social aid and pleasure clubs, culture bearers, artists, restaurants and more through professional media design and live events led by our “Second Line Around the World” touring campaign. We are currently programming to have two cultural exchange tours on the calendar in 2022.
The Lowcountry Jazz Crawl
10-Day tour along the Eastern Seaboard pairing culture bearers and artists of New Orleans together with local cultural groups and artists of Charleston, SC and Savannah, GA for collaborations rooted in shared heritage.
The Original Jazz Crawl
Inspired by the Great Migration and the ways in which the migration of Black Americans northward on railways and the Mississippi River changed the course of music and culture, the Original Jazz Crawl will launch in Jackson, MS and follow the Blues Trail up to Memphis to St. Louis and Chicago. This 3-4 week tour is the biggest planned domestic Jazz Crawl we have our sights on with hopes to acquire enough support to extend it all the way up to New York City and Harlem.
We are seeking a highly creative, organized, motivated and passionate filmmaker to help in producing documentary shorts through research, on-camera interviews, and storyboard editing.
The ideal candidate is someone eager to work for an upstart company and someone able to recognize the growth potential of early-stage business development. Candidates should be self-motivated and able to adapt within the dynamics of a quickly growing business. Candidates should be eager to learn and great communicators.

If you’re excited about the thought of introducing the world to the joy and community enthusiasm of the New Orleans second line tradition, consider applying for this ground-up opportunity.
