For anyone seeking to gain invaluable expertise through meaningful, personal contributions, join us to design a future where technology meets entertainment!   Dolby’s consumer entertainment and cinema businesses are bringing Dolby’s breakthrough technologies, powering the world’s top movies, TV shows, music, games, and live sports to more places around the world across a wider range of consumer experiences and devices. SUMMARY This role is part of a small, versatile team within Dolby’s largest business group called “Entertainment”. This business group includes businesses that strive to create spectacular experiences in movies, TVs, PCs, mobile phones, gaming, music and car entertainment.  The team is responsible for transforming and modernizing how Dolby operates. We do this by doing user research to understand the root operational problems and then designing and deploying solutions based on the latest science on organizational effectiveness and industry best practices. Our solutions consist of processes, workflows, team and role structures, tools and applications, and cultural changes.  We have taken on projects various domains such as goal setting, business strategy, product life cycle, innovation, decision making, team effectiveness, team networks, and diverse hiring.  This role can take on a variety of work involved in the discovery, development, and deployment of our business transformations. This includes conducting research on user behaviors and needs, gathering data, analyzing data for patterns and insights which serve as inspirations for operational changes, prototyping and testing new processes, workflows, roles, etc., and deploying changes to the organization. Interns will likely focus on one or two aspects of these work areas depending on what state assigned projects are in.  RESPONSIBILITIES Project Contribution and Task Management Collaborate with Project Lead on assigned work areas in service of project goalsDefine and align on work goals Plan and manage tasks to achieve work goals Report progress and raise needs and issues to Project Lead  Discovery Conduct user research using surveys, interviews, metrics, and other means Research and report on industry best practices that can be adapted for use in Dolby Analyze and document existing Dolby processes and workflows and identify opportunities to improve effectiveness and efficiencies Development Ideate and design new processes, workflows, portals, frameworks, etc.  Conduct rapid prototyping and test cycles with users Create user-facing documentation on operational solutions such as guides, training, etc. Deployment Communicate solutions and changes to target users Conduct campaigns, trainings, workshops, etc. to drive awareness and adoption  QUALIFICATIONS In general, we are looking for curious and creative people who are interested in learning and analyzing how a business organization operates and coming up with creative ways on how to make it more effective and efficient. Degrees that may align well with this work include organizational development / design, human resources, information management, psychology / behavioral science, systems engineering, UX design, and others. Candidates who have the following qualities can be successful in this role: Analytical: systematically gathers information and asks questions to sort through complex issues before solving, able to ideate, innovate and design polished solutions Communication: good written and verbal skills, including writing for developing content Task management: effectively manages assigned tasks to deliver on goals Customer focused: solicits opinions and performance feedback from customers, and uses that information/data to improve products/services/processes Resourceful and versatile: ability to jump into new domains and break down the domain in a way that can be organized and understood so that improvements can be made  We recognize that applying to internships can be a daunting process, especially if you have not had any previous internships, or if this is a new field of interest to you. Even if you do not have previous professional experience to meet the listed qualifications, we will consider relevant project, volunteer, and extracurricular experiences, and we encourage you to include them on your resume and apply.  ELIGIBILITY Working towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in organizational development / design, human resources, information management, psychology / behavioral science, systems engineering, UX design or a related field; recent grads who are within 6 months of graduation are also eligible to apply. Must be available to work full-time Monday–Friday for 3 months starting from May/June 2023.  Start date for the internship is as follows: (*note* this date is not flexible)  Monday, May 22, 2023  Monday, June 5, 2023  Monday, June 19, 2023   The San Francisco/Bay Area base hourly range for this internship position is $34 – $39 depending on education level and can vary if outside of this location. Our hourly ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
